BRC higher level
One of the leading trade associations in the United Kingdom, the British Retail Consortium (BRC) offers an inspection protocol for British retailers, comprising a number of requirements that suppliers must satisfy. Created to establish a standard for the supply of foo products, this standard has now become the internationa mark of excellence.

Certificiation to the standard verifies technical performance an aids manufacturers fulfilment of legal obligations and protection of the consumer.
Under the BRC, a quality assurance system must be implemented, HACCP must be applied and the environment, product, process and personnel must be included in this system (requirement of good hygiene practices)
